The "Stump Field" at The Growing Grounds is set up on two acres. After the land was cleared, local farmers were brought in to prep the field and the individual planting rows. Afterwards, grass rows were sown to give easy access to the trees via motor vehicle. Planting Rows are 300 ft long by 10 ft wide. Pre bonsai are planted every 18" to 24". The material for the stump field was grown here at the nursery for 6-8 yrs using the "cut and grow" method to develop a classical trunk line in nursery containers. Only after proper trunk line had been achieved were the trees planted in the stump field - the result: super quality stumps ready for bonsai.

From time to time I release workshop material for clubs or organizations to purchase that has been grown here, please e-mail your club requirements to check on availability. I grow a wide assortment of bonsai material, a little something for everyone!!
